Emmanuel Emenike's goal finds him mobbed by his team-mates

A review of Sunday's action so far in the Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria progressed to the semi-finals.

Tournament favourites Ivory Coast crashed out of the Africa Cup of Nations at the quarter-final stage after they were beaten 2-1 by Nigeria at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Emmanuel Emenike gave the Super Eagles the lead just before the break and although Cheick Tiote equalised early in the second half, Sunday Mba's deflected effort won the game for Nigeria, who will now face Mali in the last four on Wednesday.

Unfancied Burkina Faso will play an Africa Cup of Nations semi-final outside their own country for the first time following an extra-time win over Togo in Nelspruit.

Jonathan Pitroipa headed in the only goal of an otherwise tedious contest seconds before the half-time whistle in extra-time.

The Rennes forward was one of the few creative influences and deservedly provided the decisive moment in a match that was hampered by a sandy surface at the Mbombela Stadium.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
