Loic Remy: Could return for QPR at Swansea on Saturday

QPR manager Harry Redknapp has brushed aside reports claiming Loic Remy faces several weeks on the sidelines with a groin injury, insisting the French striker could return to action as soon as this weekend.

Remy joined the Rs from Marseille in an £8million deal last month and scored on his debut against West Ham, but was absent from last weekend's goalless draw with Norwich at Loftus Road after pulling up in training on Friday.

Some newspapers claimed this week that Remy's injury could rule him out for up to two months, but speaking at a QPR fans' forum tonight, Redknapp said the player could return against Swansea on Saturday providing he is satisfied the injury will not be aggravated.

"He's close to being fit for Saturday," Redknapp said.

"He trained this morning, he's very close.

"But I don't want to rush him in case he breaks down."
