Leigh Griffiths: Can strike for Hibs

Leigh Griffiths: Can strike for Hibs

With just four points separating second and ninth in the SPL the coming weeks will be crucial in the battle to qualify for the top six and challenge for a European place.

Hibs looked prime contenders for the 'best of the rest' slot behind Celtic earlier in the season but have faded badly although four points from their last two away games suggests they may be about to come good again just at the right time.

They now have two home games in a row with a Scottish Cup quarter-final tie sandwiched in between that will tell us if they have indeed turned the corner.

Kilmarnock are the visitors to Easter Road on Wednesday night with their new signing Kris Boyd hoping to make his second debut for the club, probably from the bench.

Hibs were 2-1 victors when the sides met in Leith earlier in the season with Leigh Griffiths bagging a double that day and we're getting with him again here.

The striker, on loan from Wolves, had only scored twice in 13 until two weeks ago but has now been on target in his last three and looks to be returning to his best form.

Ten of his 18 goals have come at Easter Road and when he's hot he is well worth backing. 4/1 on him to score first seems a fair price.
