Kevin Thomson: Could return to Hibs in time to face Hearts

Sunday, March 10

Hibernian v Hearts

Former Hibs midfielder Kevin Thomson could have his return to Easter Road sewn up in time for this game, boss Pat Fenlon has revealed - the Scotland international is a free agent after his release by Middlesbrough. Tim Clancy, meanwhile, could be back after a hamstring tear, but defender Paul Hanlon misses out with a hip injury.

Hearts' defensive concerns have deepened as Darren Barr serves a one-game ban. The Jambos are already missing long-term absentees Danny Grainger (knee), Jamie Hamill (knee) and Marius Zaliukas (ankle) from their back line, while injured midfielders Callum Patterson (foot) and Scott Robinson (knee) both remain sidelined too. Mehdi Taouil is expected to recover from a calf strain.

Last season: Hearts 2 Hibernian 0, Hibernian 1 Hearts 3, Hearts 2 Hibernian 0

Last five league matches: Hibernian L L W D D; Hearts L L L L W

Top scorers (all competitions): Leigh Griffiths (Hibernian) 22; John Sutton (Hearts) 7

Referee: Euan Norris (Scotland)
