The Parkhead boss failed with an attempt to lure the Republic of Ireland international to Glasgow in January but says he is now mulling over a summer swoop for the 29-year-old.
The Hoops' top-scorer Gary Hooper, who has 26 goals this season, is a target for English clubs and could be tempted south at the end of the current campaign - and Lennon believes Doyle could be the ideal replacement.
He is quoted in several newspapers on Tuesday morning saying: "I'm a big admirer of Kevin obviously - I tried to take him in January.
"I think he's a quality player. He is that all-round type of centre-forward that I really like. I can't talk about another club's player - I don't want to disrespect Wolves. But we wanted him."
And asked if he would make a second signing move, he the Celtic manager said: "I'll think about it."
Meanwhile, Lennon also confirmed that Anthony Stokes will be staying with the SPL champions, saying: "Anthony is a very important player for us."
