Cheick Tiote: Knows Newcastle still have work to do

Cheick Tiote has warned his Newcastle side they still have a long way to go before they can feel safe from Premier League relegation.

The Magpies currently lie 13th in the table, six points above the drop zone, but with a trip to Manchester City on Saturday the Ivory Coast midfielder says United cannot afford to relax.

Tiote told the Newcastle Chronicle: "I think we have more work to do. You never know what can happen. The Premier League is so, so different to any other league in the world.

"Any team can win four or five games and get out of it. So that's what we will aim to do and then we will be safe."

Tiote has picked up 11 yellow cards and one red card this season - but none in the last four games.

The midfielder insists though he is not toning down his game, adding: "That's me. If I change I am not going to be the same player. I just need to keep doing my job. That is the best thing for me."

Currently in his third season for the Magpies after arriving from FC Twente in 2009, Tiote insists he wants to remain on Tyneside.

He said: "I always enjoy playing for Newcastle. Since my first year it has been a great place for me to play.

"And I want it to continue that way for a long time."

All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
