Suarez heads home Liverpool's late equaliser

A review of Sunday's action in the Barclays Premier League.

Luis Suarez capped a controversial afternoon by scoring a dramatic late equaliser as Liverpool ruined Rafa Benitez's return to Anfield with a 2-2 draw against Chelsea.

Eden Hazard's penalty on 57 minutes appeared set to lift Chelsea back into third spot after Liverpool's half-time substitute Daniel Sturridge had cancelled out Oscar's first-half header.

However, midway through the second half, Suarez appeared to bite Branislav Ivanovic before the Uruguayan striker headed home an equaliser in the seventh minute of added time.

There was bad news for Chelsea earlier in the day as Tottenham's Champions League hopes received a huge shot in the arm as they staged a stunning comeback to defeat Manchester City 3-1 and leave the champions on the brink of relinquishing their Premier League crown.

Former Arsenal man Samir Nasri looked as if he was going to inflict another damaging defeat on Andre Villas-Boas' men when he put City ahead in the first half.

Despite the return of Gareth Bale, Spurs struggled to get into the game. They lacked cohesion for the most part, but Villas-Boas' substitutions changed the game and led to a spell of three goals in seven minutes to claim a famous victory which means Manchester United will win the title on Monday night if they beat strugglers Aston Villa at home.

Clint Dempsey equalised for Spurs from Bale's cross before Jermain Defoe marked his return with a powerful finish after being found by substitute Lewis Holtby and Bale rounded off the win with his 23rd goal of the season in the 82nd minute after being played in by another replacement Tom Huddlestone.

couple of wins and everything is OK! Sorry you still haven't got a striker who can consistently goals. Keep searching. I don't think Liverpool will make top four not even Europa League this time around.

f he can find the right player? Surely the manager of one of Europe's top clubs has a well-researched short-list and has a good idea of who he wants to bring on-board? If I can find the right player sounds like someone going out on Saturday night on the pull, and the nearer you get to midnight the lower your standards drop.
