Benayoun: Believes he has been target for some Chelsea fans

Chelsea are investigating abuse directed towards forward Yossi Benayoun from their own fans after the Israel international described the comments as "crossing the limit".

The 32-year-old believes he has been a target for Blues supporters since commenting on striker Fernando Torres following the Europa League match at Sparta Prague in February, when he backed the Spaniard to rediscover his best form.

Benayoun was a second-half substitute at Anfield in the 2-2 draw with his former club Liverpool and took to Twitter afterwards following further abuse.

"Disappointing result yesterday, always great to go back to Liverpool..really great full for the warm reception from the fans as always," Benayoun wrote.

"The booing yesterday came from some Small part of the Chelsea fans that doing it in the last few weeks since I did an interview about Torres.

"But I don't really bothered about it..people need to understand what they read.

"There is some other issues that the club is taking care and try to handle them in the right way..as sometimes people are crossing the limit.

"And I'm sure the club will sort it, what's important for me is to do the best for the team till the end of the season.

"And try to finish at the top 3 and win the Europa league..and then look for my next challenge for next season."

Benayoun joined Chelsea in June 2010 on a three-year deal and appears set to leave when his current contract ends this summer.

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
