Aatif Chahechouche admits he would like to eventually play in England despite signing a new contract with Turkish side Sivasspor.

The Moroccan had been linked with a move to England, with Fulham and Swansea City said to be looking at the 26-year-old, before the midfielder inked a new deal that expires in 2016.

The French-born player has notched up five goals in the Turkish Super League for Sivasspor since joining from Bulgarian side Chernomorets Burgas in 2012.

Sivasspor currently lie in 11th place in the Turkish Super League table, some distance behind leading lights Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, but Chahechouche says the standard of the league is improving his career prospects.

"I am happy at the club, they trust me and I am enjoying my football here," said Chahechouche.

"There were some clubs interested in me from England and Spain, but I love the Turkish League because it is so competitive.

"But I am only 26 and maybe one day I will realise my dream of playing in England."
