Wayne Rooney: Not for sale

Sky Bet have slashed the odds on Wayne Rooney remaining at Manchester United from 10/11 to 1/5 after David Moyes declared the striker is "not for sale".

The 27-year-old was odds-on to leave Old Trafford this summer after submitting a second transfer request in two years, but now looks unlikely to be granted his wish with Moyes insisting the striker is very much part of his plans for the upcoming campaign.

Arsenal had been as short as 6/4 to secure the services of the England international but have now drifted out to 11/2 alongside Chelsea, while PSG are considered his next most likely suitors at 13/2.

Sky Bet football trader Chris Spicer said: "We always remained somewhat wary of the possibility of him staying and refrained to go too long on his odds of still being at Old Trafford come the close of the transfer window, with Moyes surely unwilling to jeopardise his first season in charge by losing such a key player.

"We've consistently seen more money on him staying than departing and, with favourites Arsenal seemingly on the brink of bringing in Gonzalo Higuain, it is difficult to see him starting next season with anyone other than United."
