The loan window opened for Football league clubs on Tuesday morning and Rams boss Clough has targets in mind to fill a void created by Jeff Hendrick's recent injury.

Hendrick hobbled off with an ankle problem during the club's Championship win at Yeovil and his subsequent surgery means the 21-year-old Academy product will be out for around three months.

"Jeff being out for 12 weeks is a blow," Clough told the Derby Telegraph. "We have got John Eustace and Paul Coutts to go in there, so maybe we will look for a little option wide.

"Michael Jacobs ideally prefers the left, Jamie Ward does, and Paul Coutts would rather play in the middle of midfield, so wide right is an area we are thinking about at the moment.

"We will start making enquiries. There are not too many out there available but there are one or two names we are going to explore. It will come down to availability, finances and whether or not they are willing to come but we will start making a few calls.

"Some of our targets moved before the transfer window closed, but there are still one or two we would be interested in."

e was right to leave, but not just because of the money City were coming into. If I remember rightly he had a reasonable amount of chances to shine at City, but he never passed the bloody ball. Loads of aimless dribbles and 40 yard shots and not much else. I would say that if he had learnt to be a bit more of a team player he may have done better at City.
