A review of Tuesday's action in Sky Bet League 1.

Leyton Orient's unbeaten run in Sky Bet League 1 was ended as Coventry completed a 3-1 win over the pacesetters.

Orient and QPR were the only two teams in England yet to be beaten this season but Rangers now stand alone after the Sky Blues' success at Sixfields.

Carl Baker (10), Franck Moussa (67) and Leon Clarke (77) put the hosts into a surprisingly comfortable position before Orient substitute Yohann Lasimant got a last-gasp consolation.

Victory for Peterborough over managerless Sheffield United would have seen them leapfrog Orient at the summit but they could only manage a goalless draw.

Third-placed Wolves cut the gap on the top two to three points with a 2-0 home win over Oldham, James Henry and Leigh Griffiths both on target in the second half.

The match between fourth-placed Preston and fifth-placed Bradford ended in a 2-2 draw at Deepdale.

James Hanson put Bradford ahead after five minutes only for Tom Clarke and Bailey Wright to put the hosts in front. Rory McArdle ensured a draw in the 73rd minute.

Walsall leapt into the top six ahead of Swindon, whom they defeated 3-1 away from home.

A brace from Ashley Hemmings and one from Sam Mantom put the Saddlers three up before Nile Ranger pulled one back late on.

Brentford remained in sight of the play-of pack with a 2-1 win at bottom club Bristol City, all three goals coming in the final 11 minutes.

Sam Saunders put the Bees ahead in the 79th minute and Clayton Donaldson doubled the lead before Marlon Harewood netted for City in added time.

Notts County remain just a point about City after they were beaten 2-1 at Gillingham.

Chris Whelpdale and Danny Kedwell scored in the space of five first-half minutes for Gills and Callum McGregor's response was too little, too late.

Port Vale and Stevenage both enjoyed 3-0 away wins.

Vale defeated Crawley with goals from Louis Dodds, Doug Loft and Ben Williamson, with a Filipe Morais brace and Luke Freeman doing the damage for Stevenage at Crewe.

Carlisle came away from their trip to MK Dons with a 1-0 win courtesy of Lewis Guy's 35th-minute effort.

Marcus Bean's goal just before half-time rescued a 1-1 draw for Colchester at Shrewsbury, who had gone ahead through Cristain Lopez, and the scoreline was the same between Rotherham and Tranmere.

Kieran Agard opened the scoring for the Millers on the hour but a late Ryan Lowe penalty pulled it back for Rovers.

I

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

I

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
