England lost at Wembley for the second time in five days as they went down 1-0 to Germany after Per Mertesacker's header.

However, both Andros Townsend and Adam Lallana impressed to some degree and the bookies cut their odds to be on the plane to Brazil next summer.

Sky Bet rate Spurs ace Townsend as short as 1/3 to play in June with Southampton's Lallana 2/1.

Lallana's Southampton teammate Rickie Lambert is an 11/8 chance to make it into Roy Hodgson's 23-man squad, with Liverpool's Jordan Henderson 5/2.

In the betting on who will start England's first game at the tournament, Joe Hart remains 1/3 to start in goal after a much better performance, with Fraser Forster, who started ahead of Hart in England's defeat to Chile on Friday, now 4/1.

Ben Foster is 8/1 with John Ruddy 10/1.

xcellent! Not sure if he is any good as a manager (never thought about it) but the 'headbutt in the technical area' and what he said to Pelligrini were just brilliant, it was as if he was trying to recreate the end of the Alan Partridge Xmas special when Alan punched a man in a wheelchair and verbally abused Tony Heirs.
