The 22-year-old has penned a five-and-half-year deal with the Bundesliga outfit after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee - reported to be around £16million.

De Bruyne joined Chelsea in 2012 from Genk when they paid £7million for his signature, but he has spent most of his Blues career away from Stamford Bridge.

Having signed for Chelsea he remained with Genk for the rest of that season before spending all of last term on loan with Werder Bremen.

He returned to Chelsea under Jose Mourinho and despite featuring in the opening game of the season, he played just another two league games.

After completing his move, De Bruyne insists he does not have anything bad to say about Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

"I got along with Mourinho quite well," De Bruyne told Het Laatste Nieuws.

"Tactically he's a very strong. In the summer he convinced me to stay, although there was a nice bid from Dortmund on the table.

"My pre-season was good, my first game too, but I still don't know why I lost my place after the game against Manchester United.

"I don't regret my transfer to Chelsea. I played a good season in Bremen, I grew as a player, it was also a learning process."

De Bruyne revealed that he shunned Spanish giants Atletico Madrid to move to Wolfsburg.

"I also talked to Atletico Madrid. It was a good option, but I wasn't sure I would be playing there," he said.

"I didn't leave Chelsea because I have to go to the World Cup - it could be over after three games - but just because I lost my joy."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
