Patrick van Aanholt: Own goal

Vitesse Arnhem's bid to go top of the Eredivisie standings on Tuesday night was wrecked as AZ Alkmaar claimed a 2-0 win at the GelreDome.

A victory would have sent Vitesse a point clear of leaders Ajax but Peter Bosz's side, who had failed to win their previous two matches as well, were left empty-handed as AZ claimed only their third away win in 11 attempts this season.

An own goal from Vitesse's on-loan Chelsea defender Patrick van Aanholt put AZ ahead in the 20th minute and Aron Johannsson sealed the win three minutes before half-time.

Feyenoord, in fourth, are now just two points behind Vitesse after earning a 2-1 win at relegation-battling Roda JC.

First-half strikes from Lex Immers (13) and Samuel Armenteros (45) set Feyenoord on their way and, although they were made to sweat after Roda pulled a goal back 13 minutes from time through Anour Kali, the visitors held on for the spoils.

In Tuesday's other match, rock-bottom ADO Den Haag crashed to a fifth defeat in six games and 14th in total this season after going down 3-0 at home to Heracles Almelo.

Bryan Linssen gave Heracles a flying start with the opening goal after just two minutes and Mark Uth wrapped up the points with a brace, netting in the 34th and 57th minutes.

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.

f you want to take six points off Arsenal, then that's a great strike force. Can't imagine either of them showing much for the rest of the season though...
