Nat Whitney digests the key numbers ahead of this weekend's Premier League matches.

Saturday:

Fulham v Stoke City

Four

The sides are only four points apart in the league. Stoke City currently occupy 10th place while Fulham are sat in 12th. There is a good chance Fulham may close the gap on Stoke as the Potters haven't been good on the road this season having only won one game.

1-0

The last time the two sides met was at the Britannia Stadium in November when Stoke won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Charlie Adam, despite Fulham dominating possession.

One

Stoke have only won one Premier League game so far in 2013 when they beat Reading 2-1. Some good news for the Potters is that was their latest game so they will hope it will be a start of a good run of form. Fulham's record in 2013 isn't much better as they've only won two games since the turn of the year.

Arsenal v Aston Villa

Five

Arsenal may have had a torrid time in their last two matches, after crashing out of the FA Cup to Blackburn and suffering a heavy defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, but Arsenal haven't lost in the Premier League for five games. Their last defeat came at Stamford Bridge when they lost 2-1.

Four

Arsenal are four points behind arch-rivals Tottenham in the race for fourth place and the crucial last Champions League spot.

One

Aston Villa are one point clear of the relegation zone as they look to avoid dropping into the Championship for the first time ever.

Norwich City v Everton

Four

Since the start of 2013 Norwich have drawn four of their six Premier League games, the other two games ended in defeat. The Canaries' last win came in December when they beat Wigan.

Six

Everton trail Tottenham by six points in their quest to make the Champions League for only the second time in their history. The first time came in 2005 where they were knocked out by Villarreal in qualifying.

1-1

The reverse fixture at Goodison Park ended in a draw as Sebastian Bassong grabbed a late equaliser for Norwich, coming in the 90th minute.

QPR v Manchester United

21

It has been 21 years since QPR last beat Manchester United. On New Year's Day 1992, QPR travelled to Old Trafford. Andy Sinton and Dennis Bailey scored the goals for QPR; Bailey grabbed a hat-trick. Brian McClair grabbed one back for Manchester United.

15

Manchester United are undefeated in 15 Premier League games, the last time they tasted defeat in the league was when they visited Carrow Road in November as they lost 1-0 to Norwich City, with Anthony Pilkington grabbing the winner.

Seven

QPR haven't had a great season so far having only picked up two wins to date. They are currently seven points adrift of Aston Villa in 17th and with 12 games to go QPR need to rapidly start picking up points if they want to survive in their second season of Premier League football.

Reading v Wigan Athletic

Zero

Wigan haven't won in the Premier League during 2013, as they have lost three and drawn three.

Three

Wigan are three points adrift of safety and two behind Reading. If the Latics were to win they would leapfrog the Royals. They could even climb out of the relegation zone if Aston Villa fail to get a result at the Emirates.

92

The reverse fixture produced a dramatic finish as Jordi Gomez grabbed a 92nd minute winner as Wigan won 3-2. Gomez scored a hat-trick in that game.

West Brom v Sunderland

Five

West Brom are five points behind Everton who currently hold the guaranteed Europa League spot.

Six

The last time these two sides met it produced six goals as West Brom won 4-2. It looked like it was going to be a routine 2-0 victory for the Baggies until the last 20 minutes which produced two goals apiece.

Four

Sunderland have not won in the last four Premier League games, the last victory for the Black Cats came against Wigan.

Sunday

Newcastle United v Southampton

Zero

There are no points between the sides. Southampton sit one place ahead of Newcastle in 15th due to a slightly better goal difference.

Two

Southampton have only won two Premier League matches in 2013, although one of those victories was the impressive 3-1 defeat of Manchester City, the other victory came against Aston Villa 1-0. They have also picked up credible draws against Arsenal and Chelsea.

Five

Newcastle haven't kept a clean sheet in five Premier League games, the last time they did they drew 0-0 against Norwich in January.

Manchester City v Chelsea

Eight

Chelsea are undefeated in eight Premier League games, they have not lost since facing QPR at Stamford Bridge of the 2nd January. The goal scorer that day was ex-Blue Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Four

Manchester City have not won in the league in four games, the last time they tasted victory was when they defeated Fulham in January with David Silva grabbing both the goals for the Citizens.

6-0

In October 2007, Chelsea recorded the biggest margin of victory between themselves and Manchester City as they ran out 6-0 winners at Stamford Bridge. Didier Drogba grabbed two goals, Michael Essien, Joe Cole, Andriy Shevchenko and Salomon Kalou got the others.

West Ham United v Tottenham

Monday

Four

Tottenham are four points clear of Arsenal in the race for the last Champions League place, they are also six points ahead of Everton who are the other realistic challenger for the top four.

Five

West Ham have lost five games since the beginning of 2013, this is a worrying stat for the Hammers after a good start to the season, a few more victories though and West Ham should survive the drop.

3-1

When the sides met at White Hart Lane, Tottenham ran out 3-1 winners with Jermain Defoe getting a brace against his former club, Gareth Bale also scored before Andy Carroll got a consolation for the Hammers.

The Premier League: As Crazy As A Bag Of Snakes

C

haos reached its ultimate reckoning last weekend with Tony Hibbert looking assured at left back and Osman looking like a cultured ball playing midfielder before busting a gut to get to the back post for a Samuel Eto'o ball. Different chaos but chaos. If Kone scores the winner tonight I fear the world will end.
