Jose Mourinho: Hit out at the fixture list

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has hit out at the Barclays Premier League fixture list and it's compilers, claiming they are laughing at the club.

Mourinho's unrest stems from the fact that Chelsea are the only English team to have been involved in Champions League football who must return to domestic action on Saturday rather than Sunday.

The Portuguese was also upset at the end of last month when the Blues were forced to play Manchester City and Arsenal with a little over 48 hours in between.

This weekend Chelsea host West Brom on Saturday whilst Arsenal and the Manchester clubs play a day later.

Arsenal make the trip to Old Trafford for a blockbuster late afternoon Sunday fixture, hours after Man City's trip to Sunderland.

Mourinho was unhappy with the situation and believes those with the power to change fixture schedules are making fun of Chelsea.

"I think they laugh," he said.

"They know what they can do and laugh because I can do nothing. The people who decide the fixtures, I don't know who they are but what I know is that they think we're special and give us the right fixtures. We're the only ones who play Wednesday and Saturday.

"I feel our match is very special because from every English team involved in European competitions, especially the ones involved in Champions League matches, we're the only team that play Saturday."

Mourinho also spun his own phrase for the visit of the Baggies, with Sky's three-match 'Super Sunday' showpiece in mind as the former Real Madrid boss also cast his mind forward to the Blues' next encounter.

"Everybody has one more day to rest," he added.

"Others play Tuesday and Sunday. Once more we're really special and maybe our game versus West Brom becomes the 'Special Saturday'.

"It is happening a lot with us. Instead of having 15 days to prepare for West Ham, now we have 16 days, which is good.

"I think Big Sam will be very upset because we have 16 days to prepare for the game. That is good."

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
