Eden Hazard: Targeting trophies with Chelsea

Eden Hazard: Targeting trophies with Chelsea

Eden Hazard says he has been satisfied with his debut season at Chelsea so far but hopes he can crown his time at Stamford Bridge with silverware.

The Belgium international has made a big impact with the Blues since arriving from Lille last summer, scoring eight Premier League goals and notching as many assists.

Hazard is enjoying life in the top-flight, although admits the intensity is greater than he was used to in Ligue 1.

The 22-year-old forward says he is happy to be playing regularly for the Blues but says his main aim is to help them lift trophies, with the FA Cup and Europa League titles still within their reach this season.

Asked if he made the right choice moving to Stamford Bridge, Hazard told L'Equipe: "Yes. I am playing all the time, which is what I wanted.

"We will see if I will win trophies, which is the most important."

He added: "I have realized the intensity (of the Premier League).

"We have no time for any rest during a match. At Lille there were five or 10 minutes when it was a bit calmer. In England it is always at full tilt for 90 minutes. You cannot give up anything otherwise you concede a goal.

"It is the main difference, and with the fans too. They throw completely themselves into football. That is impressive."

Hazard, who scored a goal in each of Belgium's two World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia during the international break, has been pleased with his consistency this term.

"What has improved the most since I've been at Chelsea? My steadiness," he added.

"I've failed in a few matches but I've never heard 'Hazard has been hopeless.' I've had a lot of good matches this term."

Hazard admits he was wary of the physicality of the Premier League before joining Chelsea but added: "I thought it would be tougher physically but in Ligue 1 it is tough too.

"I've taken fewer blows in Premier League. Maybe they are more violent, so I try to avoid challenges! Anyway I am happy."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
