Sky Bet have slashed to odds on Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini joining Arsenal following a run of bets on Thursday night.
The online bookmaker reported a flurry of stakes amid media reports that the Gunners have activated a release clause in the Belgium international's contract, thought to be around £24million.
Manchester United were considered Fellaini's most likely suitors after David Moyes took over, but moving to the Emirates is now considered most likely after Arsenal were backed in from 5/6 to by Friday lunchtime.
Sky Bet trader Chris Spicer said: "Arsenal have been backed to sign various different players over the summer as Arsene Wenger looks to make use of a healthy transfer kitty, but it was somewhat of a surprise to see such significant stakes on them to sign Marouane Fellaini.
"The towering midfielder does not seem to fit in with their footballing ethos but our punters certainly seem convinced a deal could happen."
Fellaini was one of Everton's top performers last season, finishing as their top scorer in the Premier League with 11 goals.
He joined the club from Standard Liege in 2008 for a club record £15million.
