The 22-year-old has spent loan spells with Yeovil, Doncaster, Millwall and most recently in France with Lorient during the second half of last season.

The England Under-20 international is yet to make a Premier League appearance for Spurs but has featured in the League Cup and Europa League, most recently in a 3-1 victory over NK Maribor in November.

Mason's arrival brings the number of imports from White Hart Lane this summer to six.

Former Tottenham defender Jack Barthram joined in June after his contract expired while the club signed right-back Nathan Byrne and loaned in Massimo Luongo, Grant Hall and Alex Pritchard on season-long loans.
