Barnsley manager Keith Hill has dismissed rumours leading goalscorer Ricardo Vaz Te is about to follow Danny Drinkwater out of Oakwell.
Manchester United have accepted an undisclosed fee for midfielder Drinkwater and Vaz Te, who has fired 12 goals this season, is understood to have attracted interest from rival clubs.
But Hill told the club's official website: "It's just speculation, it's going to happen.
"There's a lot of mischievousness at this time of the year. Ian Holloway phoned me a couple of weeks ago about Jacob Butterfield, he hasn't phoned me about Ricardo Vaz Te.
"It's that time of the season but Ricardo will remain with us until at least the end of the season.
"He's too important to us to sell even though his contract's up at the end of the season. He's been instrumental this season and he's given himself an opportunity. He's matured as a person but, prior to this season, he had very little options."
