Guirane N'Daw will make an early return to Birmingham after Senegal crashed out of the African Nations Cup in the group stages.
The midfielder, who headed off for the competition two-and-a-half weeks ago, was part of a Senegal side tipped to go far in the tournament.
But Wednesday night's shock 2-1 defeat to co-hosts Equatorial Guinea saw N'Daw and his international team-mates make an early exit following their earlier 2-1 loss to Zambia.
Senegal still have one more Group A match remaining against Libya on Sunday but their hopes of progressing into the knockout stages have now been crushed.
N'Daw could have been away until mid-February had Senegal progressed to the final, which is set to take place in Libreville on February 12.
