Ipswich have lost out on the services of Murray Wallace after the Falkirk defender instead opted to join Huddersfield.
Wallace, 19, has attracted a host of attention this month and Town were understood to be one of three clubs to have bids accepted for his services, along with Championship rivals Brighton and League One promotion chasers Huddersfield.
The centre-back arrived for talks at Portman Road on Monday but Town manager Paul Jewell has missed out on his target with Wallace deciding on a move to the Galpharm Stadium, although he returns to Scottish club Falkirk on loan for the rest of the season.
