Nigel Pearson: No FA action

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson will face no action from the Football Association after he was sent to the stands during the recent npower Championship game against Middlesbrough.

Pearson was unable to remain on the touchline for the second half of his side's 2-2 home draw against Boro last Wednesday night following an exchange of words with referee Gavin Ward at half-time.

Pearson alleged the official barged into the Leicester dressing room towards the end of the interval as he was talking to his players.

When he emerged, the City boss was informed by the fourth official that he had been sent off for what he had said to Ward.

Pearson admitted at the time that he may have used what the FA would consider 'foul and abusive language' but vowed to challenge any action the authorities might take.

However, the FA have said no further action was 'deemed appropriate' after reviewing Ward's report and the evidence.

Meanwhile, a Leicester reserve side beat Chesterfield 3-0 in a friendly at the club's Belvoir Drive training ground on Tuesday afternoon with teenage striker Tom Hopper, who recently made his first-team debut against Swindon in the FA Cup, scoring a hat-trick.

here has only been 3 players who made me hold my breath in dread when they picked the ball up anywhere near our penalty area...in their prime Scholes and Giggs... and always Drogba. Awesome player who on his day was the best striker in the world in my opinion.

remember him scoring a 25-yarder, either the season just gone or the one before, against Bolton at the Reebok. I've never seen a ball hit that hard before in my entire life. You could almost feel the shockwave from his foot contacting it 40 yards away in the stands. Didier Droga. You might not have loved him, but you just had to be in awe of him.
