Ryan Noble: Heading back to Sunderland?

Derby manager Nigel Clough has hinted that Ryan Noble's loan spell from Sunderland may not be extended.

Noble rejoined the Rams on a month-long loan in January and that deal will expire after Reading's visit to Pride Park on Tuesday night.

Clough has Nathan Tyson back from injury and Theo Robinson could be included in the squad against the Royals next week, while fellow striker Steven Davies has been given the all-clear to play without a protective mask following his skull fracture in mid-October.

"We'll have a chat with Sunderland and see what their plans are and if they need him back," said Clough. "I know they have been a bit short of strikers but if Theo's calf is not far off and Steven Davies is fit as well as Bally (Callum Ball) and Nathan, we now have a few fit strikers.

"The other strikers are doing well. Steven was out for quite a number of months and although he was able to train, he just needs to build his match fitness. He has had two or three reserve games but he just needs to show a little bit more than he did in those games to tell us he is ready to come back in.

"Nathan would have started against Nottingham Forest had the game been on and as long as he has a good week's training he will be in contention to start at Millwall on Saturday."

here has only been 3 players who made me hold my breath in dread when they picked the ball up anywhere near our penalty area...in their prime Scholes and Giggs... and always Drogba. Awesome player who on his day was the best striker in the world in my opinion.

I

remember him scoring a 25-yarder, either the season just gone or the one before, against Bolton at the Reebok. I've never seen a ball hit that hard before in my entire life. You could almost feel the shockwave from his foot contacting it 40 yards away in the stands. Didier Droga. You might not have loved him, but you just had to be in awe of him.
