Pavel Krmas: Calf injury

Freiburg have been rocked by the news that Pavel Krmas will be out for several weeks with a calf injury.

The versatile 31-year-old picked up the problem towards the end of Sunday's 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen and had to limp off the pitch without being replaced as Freiburg had already used their three substitutions.

Further examinations have now revealed the extent of the damage and Krmas, who can play in midfield as well as defence, is facing a lengthy lay-off.

Media spokesperson Rudi Raschke told Badische Zeitung: "Pavel Krmas has been injured, he has torn a muscle in his calf and will be out.

"He will be missing several weeks of the season with this injury."

Freiburg are currently bottom of the Bundesliga table ahead of their next game against Wolfsburg on Friday.

here has only been 3 players who made me hold my breath in dread when they picked the ball up anywhere near our penalty area...in their prime Scholes and Giggs... and always Drogba. Awesome player who on his day was the best striker in the world in my opinion.

I

remember him scoring a 25-yarder, either the season just gone or the one before, against Bolton at the Reebok. I've never seen a ball hit that hard before in my entire life. You could almost feel the shockwave from his foot contacting it 40 yards away in the stands. Didier Droga. You might not have loved him, but you just had to be in awe of him.
