Zakaria Labyad: Netted for PSV Eindhoven

PSV Eindhoven missed out on the opportunity to establish a five-point lead at the top of the Eredivisie with a 1-1 draw at Heracles Almelo.

With FC Twente and AZ Alkmaar seeing their games postponed, Fred Rutten's men were seeking a win to put more space between them and their title rivals.

It looked like they were going to get it when Zakaria Labyad gave them the lead in the 19th minute, but Everton's 76th-minute equaliser meant PSV had to settle for a draw.

Feyenoord climbed above fierce rivals Ajax with a 2-0 victory at NEC Nijmegen.

Otman Bakkal and Guyon Fernandez were the men on target at the start of each half for the visitors.

The win moved the Rotterdammers up to fifth spot - three points clear of Ajax following the champions' 2-0 defeat at home to FC Utrecht.

Edouard Duplan scored late in each half to inflict a second straight defeat on Ajax and move the visitors well clear of the bottom three.

It was incredibly Utrecht's fourth league win over the Amsterdammers in the past two seasons.

RKC Waalwijk were impressive 3-0 winners at FC Groningen.

The visitors were two up within five minutes thanks to Rick Ten Voorde's penalty and Petter Andersson's own goal, and sealed the points in the 64th minute through Guy Ramos' strike.

On Saturday, Bart Schenkeveld scored twice to give Excelsior a 3-1 victory in their relegation showdown with VVV-Venlo and move them off the foot of the table.

Schenkeveld scored either side of half-time to put the hosts in control and Darren Maatsen made the points safe with a third.

Yanic Wildschut grabbed a consolation for VVV, who had Brian Linssen sent off when 1-0 down, but it could not prevent them falling to the foot of the table.

Nicky Hofs' first-half goal earned Vitesse Arnhem a 1-0 victory at home to NAC Breda.

Hofs finished off an excellent team move for his first goal of the season in the 19th minute.

Alexander Buttner should have doubled the lead just after the hour mark, but saw his penalty saved by Jelle ten Rouwelaar, while NAC had Anthony Lurling sent off at the death.

On Friday night, Heerenveen moved fourth after a hard-fought 4-3 win over Roda JC.

In an action-packed match at the Abe Lenstra Stadio, the home side were ahead after five minutes with Bas Dost scoring.

Syrian striker Sanharib Malki then levelled just minutes later, but parity did not last long as Daryl Janmaat made it 2-1 to Heerenveen.

However, Roda battled back and goals either side of the interval from Malki and Davy de Beule gave them the lead.

Heerenveen, though, levelled on the hour through Gerald Sibon before Dost's second with 20 minutes left gave them victory.

here has only been 3 players who made me hold my breath in dread when they picked the ball up anywhere near our penalty area...in their prime Scholes and Giggs... and always Drogba. Awesome player who on his day was the best striker in the world in my opinion.

I

remember him scoring a 25-yarder, either the season just gone or the one before, against Bolton at the Reebok. I've never seen a ball hit that hard before in my entire life. You could almost feel the shockwave from his foot contacting it 40 yards away in the stands. Didier Droga. You might not have loved him, but you just had to be in awe of him.
