Isaac Osbourne: Extends Aberdeen contract

Isaac Osbourne has agreed a contract extension at Aberdeen that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2013.

The midfielder moved to Pittodrie in June 2011 following his release by Coventry.

He has impressed during his time in the SPL and has now been rewarded with fresh terms.

The 25-year-old is delighted to have prolonged his association with the Dons, with it his opinion that he stands more chance of fulfilling his ambitions in Scotland than he does in England.

Osbourne told RedTV: "I could not turn down the offer to stay on at such a big club.

"Hopefully, if not this season, next season we will get into a cup final or into Europe. I want to be part of that.

"At a club like Aberdeen there is more opportunity to win something than playing for a team down south. There is a lot to look forward to."

He added: "I did not bother speaking with my agent to see what offers there were down south. I just wanted to stay here.

"The only issues were personal ones with me being so far away from the family.

"At the end of the day though it is a job, I am enjoying it here, it is a good city to be in and if I need to go home I can still do so.

"It is in my best interests that I signed for another year."

ou realise this means he'll have more free time to tweet, appear on newsnight, and google philosphers... ban seems about right, but there will never be consistency from the FA, so that completely undermines any possible lesson to the kids. Apart from the lesson about being part of an important cash cow.

here has only been 3 players who made me hold my breath in dread when they picked the ball up anywhere near our penalty area...in their prime Scholes and Giggs... and always Drogba. Awesome player who on his day was the best striker in the world in my opinion.
