John Sutton: Hoping for Hearts return

John Sutton remains hopeful that he has a long-term future at Hearts despite admitting he was "ushered out" of the club.

The striker recently joined Australian side Central Coast Mariners on loan until the summer after scoring three goals in 18 appearances for Hearts since his move from Motherwell last year.

Sutton is prepared to accept the challenge of playing in the A-League, but is still keen to make an impact upon his return to Tynecastle.

"It has never really been an ambition of mine to play in Australia," said Sutton in the Daily Record.

"My only aim this season was to do well for Hearts. But when I was made available for loan and told I could go I realised I was being ushered out.

"That's what happened but hopefully when I come back I can do well for Hearts.

"I'm expecting to return to Tynecastle for pre-season. The club have a great chance in the Scottish Cup and can also still challenge for third place in the SPL.

"Central Coast are doing really well this year and they're in the Asian Champions League. It will be good to test myself against those teams. It's exciting."

ou realise this means he'll have more free time to tweet, appear on newsnight, and google philosphers... ban seems about right, but there will never be consistency from the FA, so that completely undermines any possible lesson to the kids. Apart from the lesson about being part of an important cash cow.

here has only been 3 players who made me hold my breath in dread when they picked the ball up anywhere near our penalty area...in their prime Scholes and Giggs... and always Drogba. Awesome player who on his day was the best striker in the world in my opinion.
