Clint Hill: Set to be offered an extension to his current contract

The 34-year-old has inherited the armband at Loftus Road in the wake of Ryan Nelsen's decision to move into management at MLS outfit FC Toronto.

He is fast closing in on 100 appearances for QPR, a landmark it appeared he would be unlikely to meet just a few months back.

Hill struggled for game time under former Rs manager Mark Hughes, but has become an important part of the first-team set-up under Redknapp.

His current deal at Loftus Road is due to expire in the summer, but he is set to be presented with fresh terms regardless of how QPR fare in their Premier League survival bid.

Redknapp said of the no-nonsense centre-half: "Yeah, I'm sure Clint can play on.

"He's a good pro, he's a good lad, he puts his body on the line for the club, and I'm sure he can keep going."

t's why Mourinho is so successful. He gives players a specific, limited set of functions to perform. They are but a cog in a machine. Do no more, do no less. I assume he learnt it from LvG :)

really hope that someone in the mainstream media spots that the Bayern manager played for and managed Barcelona quite well, and thinks to mention it in the build up. That would be really interesting.
