Alex Pearce: Confident ahead of Aston Villa clash

Brian McDermott's side find themselves second from bottom of the table after failing to pick up any points since their win over Sunderland at the start of February.

Reading face fellow strugglers Aston Villa this weekend at the Madejski Stadium and Pearce is confident they can get back to winning ways against Villa.

"We have been disappointed with the results we have got lately in the last couple of weeks, but confidence is still high," Pearce told Sky Sports News.

"We are still pretty sure and positive we can get a result on Saturday against Villa.

"They are down there with us fighting for their lives and we are fighting for our lives as well."

Hal Robson-Kanu, who scored Reading's goal in last weekend's defeat to Everton, is hoping to score a few more goals to boost Reading's survival bid.

"It's always nice to get on the scoresheet, but it was a disappointing result and that's the most important thing," added Robson-Kanu.

"It was nice to score, but hopefully there will be a few more of them and hopefully we will be heading in the right direction."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
