Roman Abramovich is already looking for a replacement for Antonio Conte following Chelsea’s poor start to the season, according to reports in Spain.
The Blues currently sit in fourth position in the Premier League standings, one point behind Tottenham, four adrift of Manchester United and a massive nine points away from leaders Manchester City.
Marca claims that Abramovich has already decided to sack Conte after his relationship with the Italian has ‘deteriorated’ in recent times.
The Spanish publication also report that all communications between Conte and the Russian owner are being passed through director Marina Granovskaia.
The report understands that Conte is ‘struggling to improve relations’ with his Chelsea players, while Abramovich saw Conte’s part in Diego Costa’s exit from Stamford Bridge as ‘disrespectful’.
The former Juventus and Italy boss has two years to run on his current deal with the Blues but Marca claims that the club are already looking at possible candidates to replace him.
Despite remaining in a good position to qualify for the knockout stages, their recent 3-0 defeat to Roma in the Champions League has left them with a trickier run-in – but they have made it through to the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
