The agent of Henrikh Mkhitaryan has reiterated that his client wants to join Manchester United despite Borussia Dortmund blocking his move.
Dortmund have already lost Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels this summer and are expecting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to exit the club, so are willing to allow the Armenian to leave for free next summer rather than lose another star.
United are said to have offered £19m for a man widely considered the be the best European player not at Euro 2016.
“He wants to go to Manchester United and we are still trying to resolve the situation,” Mino Raiola said.
“We are still talking to Dortmund. We are trying to be reasonable. They are aware that Micki wants to leave now.”
Dortmund chief executive Hanz-Joachim Watzke said this week: “We have been negotiating with Henrikh Mkhitaryan for four months for him to extend his contract with us.
“Now we know that it is not extended, it was never our commitment that Mkhitaryan may leave us prematurely.
“We have intensely discussed the question of an early transfer in all club bodies and came to the conclusion that Mkhitaryan will stay in Dortmund next season.”
