Paul Pogba could have joined Chelsea last summer before Juventus blocked the move, according to the player’s agent.

Pogba secured a world-record transfer to Manchester United in August, having left the club as a 19-year-old in 2012 to join Juventus.

He enjoyed four stellar years in Turin before returning to Old Trafford for £89.3million.

The Frenchman was a target for both Real Madrid and Barcelona throughout his years in Italy, but agent Mino Raiola has revealed that he almost joined Chelsea in 2015, who were then managed by Jose Mourinho.

“Paul could have left last year because Mourinho – then at Chelsea – really wanted him,” Raiola told Rai Sport.

“But Juventus and I had agreement: win the league title and the Champions League, then he can go.”
