Sergio Aguero has admitted that a move to Manchester City for Lionel Messi would be “complicated”.
City have long been linked with the Barcelona forward over the past few years, as one of the small pool of clubs capable of actually before able to afford the Argentine.
Midfielder Fernandinho insisted that the club could foot the bill for Messi if they wished to, but that they prefer to create their own stars.
The rumours resurfaced this summer but did not come to fruition, and Aguero says that his compatriot joining him at the Etihad Stadium is perhaps too “complicated”.
“The money isn’t a problem here,” Aguero told TyC Sport. “But I think Messi, like [Cristiano] Ronaldo, are players who are symbols of their clubs and it’s difficult for them to leave.
“I would love to have Leo on my team, but that seems quite complicated.”
