Musa: ‘I am like Jamie Vardy’ (NOT racism)

New Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa believes he is very similar to Jamie Vardy.

Musa scored 54 goals in 164 games for CSKA Moscow before moving to England for a fee of £16.6m, comfortably Leicester’s record signing.

There have been doubts raised about the striker’s ability to cope with the physical nature of the Premier League, having only previously played in Russia and Netherlands.

However, Musa referenced the achievements of Vardy in the top flight as evidence of why he can also be successful.

“A lot of people used to tell me, ‘Musa, you are too small to be a striker’,” Musa told Yahoo.

“But I said: ‘It doesn’t matter what size you are, it’s what you can do that matters.

“I think I am like Jamie Vardy. I have speed, I like to work hard, we are similar in lots of things.

“Am I faster? I can’t say yet, I have never played with him, but I am looking forward to finding out.

“I’m looking forward to playing with Vardy. I like his style. I think we can fit well together.”
