Allardyce says Everton face ‘world’s best goalscorer’
Sam Allardyce believes that Everton face the best centre forward in world football on Saturday afternoon.
Allardyce started well at Everton, but his side are now winless in their last five matches in all competitions and have failed to have a shot on target in two of their last three home games.
Things don’t promise to get much easier on Saturday, when Allardyce takes his team to Wembley, and face Harry Kane.
Kane scored twice against Everton in September, and twice against them again in their previous away game at Tottenham.
“I think Harry Kane is probably the world’s best goalscorer at the moment,” Allardyce said.
“There’s much more than that of course, with his hold-up play, his assists and passes.
“He’s probably the best all-round centre forward in the world at the moment.
“His confidence is high, his record of goals per game is huge, and his service is very good from the other players.
“Lots of those other players can score goals as well so we can’t just pay particular attention to Harry and not the others.
“If we sort of block him out then there are some others in that Tottenham side who can pop the ball in the back of the net.”
