Another managerial contender drops out of Everton running

RB Leipzig sporting director and reported Everton target Ralf Rangnick has committed his future to the Bundesliga club until 2021.

The 59-year-old, who was reportedly interviewed by chairman Bill Kenwright in 2013 before Roberto Martinez was handed the reins, had once again been linked with the vacancy at Goodison Park in recent days.

But a move now seems unlikely after Leipzig announced on their official website on Sunday that Rangnick had extended his stay at the club until June 2021.

Rangnick began his current role in 2012 and had a spell as the club’s manager in the 2015-16 campaign.

The three-man shortlist remains intact, at least.

Oh, and Steve Walsh is a big old loser.
