Internacional midfielder Charles Aranguiz would prefer not to join Leicester City, as he favours a move to Germany with Bayer Leverkusen.
Aranguiz is looking to leave Brazil after impressing for Chile in their recent Copa America success, and has an offer on the table from the Premier League side.
The Chile international has been linked with the Foxes as a replacement for Esteban Cambiasso, the Argentine veteran who recently chose not to spend a second season at the King Power Stadium.
But new Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri looks set to be snubbed by a second South American defensive midfielder as Aranguiz revealed his Bundesliga and Champions League ambitions.
“The president told me there’s a bid from Leicester and it’s good for the club,” he told Globo. “But for me, Leverkusen is important.
“I am not talking about money. Between Leverkusen and Leicester, the best is Leverkusen; they’re a bigger team. I want to go.
“I am 26-years-old, and am at a stage where I need to go a step further.”.
