Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Greek centre-half Konstantinos Mavropanos from PAS Giannina.
The Gunners have agreed a £2.2million fee for the defender, according to the London Evening Standard.
Mavropanos is due in London soon to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.
The 20-year-old is yet to feature for the Greek national team, but has two caps at Under-21 level.
Rather than immediately becoming part of the club’s first team, Mavropanos would be loaned out to Werder Bremen for the rest of the season.
Arsenal's interest in Kostas Mavropanos is very left-field. Has played well this season for an average PAS Giannina side, but the view from Greece is that he could be a good player – nothing more. Certainly not receiving the hype Manolas (or even Panagiotis Retsos) did.

Mavropanos’ agent has reportedly responded to the speculation, branding the story an “invention”.
