Mohamed Elneny has pledged to “fight” to put smiles back on the faces of Arsenal fans again after their dismal Carabao Cup performance.

The Gunners have been in the firing line since their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at Wembley, where one young fan was caught on camera crying while his heroes toiled against the Premier League leaders.

Television viewers saw the youngster come into focus while Gary Neville was mid-rant, branding some Arsenal players as “spineless” and “a disgrace”.

Elneny spoke up on Monday afternoon, insisting he will battle to make the Gunners fans proud again.

Elneny came off the bench on Sunday afternoon, while reserve goalkeeper Emilano Martinez, currently on loan at Getafe, also sympathised with the young boy.
