Perennial Arsenal target Adrien Rabiot has revealed he has requested to leave Paris Saint-Germain on loan in the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old has struggled to assert himself in Laurent Blanc’s first team this season and he has made just eight Ligue 1 starts.
Arsenal have reportedly been tracking Rabiot over the last few months as Wenger looks to beef up his squad in the January window and a temporary switch might just suit both parties.
“Paris is my city. It’s great to play here. If I could impose myself here, it would be brilliant,” he told Telefoot.
“I would be ready to play my whole career at PSG if I was a starter. I would see things differently, that’s for sure.
“I’ve asked the president for a loan move in January if my time on the field is insufficient,” the youngster added. “It’s something that he can’t refuse me – I know he likes me very much.
“When you train all week, you want to be on the field. Sometimes it’s not possible and it’s frustrating.”
Wenger is looking to strengthen his squad with a long-term injury to Francis Coquelin leaving him short of options.
Aaron Ramsey’s return has eased some of Wenger’s problems, but the Arsenal boss has hinted at a dip into the market in the New Year and Rabiot could fit the bill.
