Santi Cazorla has been ruled out for at least three months with a knee injury, Arsenal have confirmed.
The news comes after Arsene Wenger admitted that the Spaniard’s injury, sustained in the 46th minute of the match against Norwich, had got worse over the course of the second half. Quite why Wenger left him on the field is unclear but, y’know, Wenger.
Arsenal are still assessing Cazorla’s injury, but ligament damage is thought to rule him out until at least March, with fears it could actually be longer still before he returns.
While Wenger received positive news on Laurent Koscielny and Alexis Sanchez, this comes as another sever blow to Arsenal’s hopes of winning the title.
Still think it might have been worth buying a midfielder last summer. A few Arsenal supporters might well agree.
