‘Arsenal to begin talks with £45m Man United target’

Arsenal are opening talks with the representatives of Bordeaux’s Brazilian winger Malcom this weekend, according to reports in his homeland.

Manchester United have also been strongly linked with Malcom, who has scored seven Ligue Un goals this season so narrowly misses out on this list.

The 20-year-old has been identified as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, according to the Daily Mirror, who expect Thomas Lemar to join Liverpool.

The Mirror’s Arsenal man John Cross is at pains to underline that Arsene Wenger ‘will refuse to sell the Chilean until a replacement is lined up’, which is why he remains available to play for the Gunners.

Malcom has recently begun learning English, which sparked rumours that he will soon join a Premier League club.
