The imminent arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has influenced Mesut Ozil’s decision over his future at Arsenal as the playmaker now looks likely to stay, according to reports.
The Gunners have reportedly agreed a fee in the region of £55million but Borussia Dortmund will only give the go ahead if they manage to sign a replacement.
Olivier Giroud will reportedly get the transfer merry-go-round under way after Chelsea agreed an £18million fee with Arsenal, which will then free up Michy Batshuayi to complete a loan deal to Dortmund.
German newspaper Bild claims that the arrival of Aubameyang will convince Ozil to stay at the Emirates Stadium with his contract ticking down at the end of the season.
The report continues by saying that the former Real Madrid star loves life in London and that he will not seek a move away with Aubameyang expected to join before the transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.
Ozil will – according to Bild – sign a new £305,000-a-week deal and spend at least the next two or three years at the Emirates Stadium.
“But we aren’t close enough to tell you yes, he will stay.”
