West Bromwich Albion have failed in their attempt to overturn the red card decision which was handed to striker Hal Robson-Kanu during Saturday’s win at Burnley.
The 28-year-old Wales international was shown a straight red card late on in his side’s 1-0 Premier League victory against Burnley at Turf Moor following an aerial challenge with home defender Matt Lowton.
Robson-Kanu was a second-half substitute for Tony Pulis’ men and after replacing James McClean in the 63rd minute.
However, before the collision with Lowton, which resulted in the dismissal he managed to score the only goal of the game giving the baggies the three points.
Albion contested the decision on the ground of wrongful dismissal but an FA Commission has upheld the decision and Robson-Kanu will now serve a three-match suspension.
