Bah Hum-bugger: No good injury news for Arsenal

Arsene Wenger will be unable to welcome back any of his injured Arsenal players over the festive period.

Alexis Sanchez has suffered a setback in his return from a hamstring injury, with the Chile forward missing Monday’s win over Manchester City. He is not expected to feature over the next two games.

Jack Wilshere (leg) should be back in January, while Mikel Arteta (calf) is also not far away from a comeback.

Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck, Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky (all knee) are also missing for the foreseeable future.

In their absence, Arsenal have established themselves as favourites for the Premier League title by beating City on Monday.

Supporters will hope that the club’s form does not dissuade Wenger from spending money in January, with cover in defensive midfield needed.
