Bale to Manchester United rumours are back again
Gareth Bale is again being linked with a move to Manchester United.
Bale has been touted as a possible arrival at Old Trafford in each of the last three summers, despite Real Madrid saying they don’t want to sell and Bale saying he doesn’t want to leave.
Most of the papers on Friday morning go big with the claims that Zinedine Zidane believes that Bale could leave Real. Here’s what Zidane actually said:
“I hope the BBC [Benzema, Bale and Cristiano] stay for this season.
“I hope everyone remains. I want everyone who is here now to stay.
“But anything can happen right up until August 31.”
“Anything can happen” has unsurprisingly been translated as ‘Bale could be sold to United’.
It’s worth pointing out that Jose Mourinho has ruled out the signing, saying five days ago that Bale was not a Manchester United target.
“It’s the same [as Ronaldo],” Mourinho said.
“You have contacts, you have feelings, you understand things, I think it was clear that Bale likes Madrid, the challenge, the situation, he’s in a club in a very good situation now.
“I never felt a desire from him to leave, so why lose time and energy on that? No.”
Has anything actually changed?
