Mario Balotelli has insisted he does not wish to return to Liverpool once his loan spell with AC Milan expires.
Balotelli joined Liverpool in summer 2014 but endured a difficult first campaign at Anfield, and moved back to the Italian side on a season-long loan deal last summer.
The striker has scored three goals in 18 games in an injury-hit second spell at Milan, having scored four goals in 28 games under Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.
Speaking after Milan’s 1-0 win over Sampdoria on Sunday, Balotelli insisted that he wishes to stay in Italy as opposed to returning to Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.
“What I want is certainly to stay at Milan,” Balotelli said. “I was not happy at Liverpool and I do not want to go back there. I’ve been doing well in my last two games, there are another six for me to prove myself.
“I feel in good shape physically at last and am relaxed. Besides, Milan have the money!”
Klopp is said to be devastated.
