Michy Batshuayi admits he found it difficult to find consistency and “confidence” at Chelsea.
Batshuayi joined the Blues in summer 2016, but rarely featured under Antonio Conte.
The Belgian boasted a solid record in terms of goals, but was never trusted as Conte’s first-choice striker.
He joined Borussia Dortmund on loan in January, and has scored five goals and assisted one in just three games.
The 24-year-old says he is benefiting from a regular first-team run.
“It wasn’t always easy at Chelsea,” he told Sporza. “Sitting on the bench, scoring a goal and then back to the bench is quite difficult to deal with for an attacker.
“I’m now playing with a lot of confidence.
“I don’t know if Conte was watching my game. They are focusing on the Premier League and have an important Champions League tie next week. I hope it turns out well for them.”
